All registered second-level domain names in the .GEA TLD will be exclusively registered and maintained by GEA as registrant and domain name owner. However, GEA is allowed to distribute control or use of any registrations under .GEA domain names to affiliates of GEA. The Registry Operator GEA will not sell, distribute or transfer control or use of any registrations in the .GEA TLD to any third party that is not an Affiliate of GEA or a GEA community member. All .GEA second-level domains are intended to be used for standard domain name based services (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, email, website, …) in connection with products, activities and members of the GEA community.
Intended users of .GEA second-level domain names are members of the GEA community and Internet users worldwide no matter whether they are interested in GEA as partners, customers or Internet users in general.
As of today all relevant members of the GEA community including their bodies have been involved in this application. The .GEA top-level domain will be communicated through the appropriate channels within the community. It is planned to operate, maintain and integrate the .GEA top-level domain as a long-term investment in the brand GEA. According to the latest annual report (dated March 12, 2012), all GEA marks are established as trademarks in the respective branches and will be pursued for an indefinite period.
