16 Describe the applicant's efforts to ensure that there are no known operational or rendering problems concerning the applied-for gTLD string

This issue concerns the ongoing discussions at ICANN regadring the Universal Acceptance of All Top-Level Domains. This issue has been pertaining ICANN discussions for a while now. Since the past launches of TLDs like .info and .museum, the need has risen to demand activities with the objective of standarizing applications and developers to include all valid TLDs in the root zone.

As noted by ICANN the acceptance of all Top-Level Domains requires the cooperation of software vendors, application and website developers among others.

Ongoing efforts to achieve the acceptance are being done at two levels.

- Recommendations to application and site developers to avoid checking the validity of FQDNs (Fully Qualified Domain Names) at the application level. This is rather left unattended and to be handled at the DNS level.

- In the case that these checks are absolutely mandatory, the recommendation is to do so agains the whole list of valid TLDs available at: http:⁄⁄data.iana.org⁄TLD⁄tlds-alpha-by-domain.txt

Our approach regarding Universal Accpetance is divided in two efforts.

1) If any specific issues are noted regarding acceptance of the TLD, we will contact the software vendor, developer or related party to try to solve this situations directly. For this we will need to have an active relationship with the community. This relationship is one of the building blocks of our project.

2) We will have information publicly available at our site addressing this specific issue. We will try to make this information public and of community interest.

We hope that this approach will not only benefit us, but will also be useful for all new and existing TLDs in the process of achieving universal acceptance.
