The Applicant has an extensive geographic coverage and diversified business⁄operations across the globe with subsidiary companies and associated companies established around the world, and its over 300 manufacturing plants and extensive distribution networks covering China, India, Indonesia and some 50 other more countries. Therefore clearly it has a vested interest giving its stakeholders, subsidiary companies and associated companies, affiliate partners and⁄or associates, distributors, official dealers, retailers and customers a clear and predictable naming scheme in the. WILMAR gTLD.
The Applicant’s stakeholders, subsidiary companies and associated companies, affiliate partners and⁄or associates, distributors, official dealers, retailers and customers etc. may have already increasingly identifying the Applicant’s business activities⁄operations by its geographical locations. The Applicant may develop⁄implement a mechanism in order for domain names that exclusively contain geographic names (country names, city names, names of regions, etc.) to be approved to be registered. However, the Applicant will put in place and consider the following confines before such domain names are to be approved to be registered:
• that these domain names will be exclusively registered in the name of the Applicant ⁄ Registry Operator or its Affiliates, and not in the name of a third party that is not controlled by the Applicant ⁄ Registry Operator, unless otherwise agreed with the authority competent for giving its consent in accordance with Specification 5 of the Registry Agreement;
• that where consents are required prior to the registration and use of a domain name referred to and in accordance with Specification 5 of the Registry Agreement, the Applicant will obtain such consents before actually registering, delegating and using these domain names.
In any case, the Applicant will retain its rights to the full control of the registration, delegation and use of domain names corresponding to the geographic names at all times.
